We only had one night while passing through, and wished we could have stayed longer. From the warm welcome onward, the place felt like a family home. We loved dogs, so the three Golden Retrievers won us over right away. They even checked that we’d made it safely to the airport. The beach and garden were beautiful. In the evening we had a few beers with locals, then went snorkeling. The beach was very clean and the coral was easy to see. Breakfast the next morning was great, with your choice made just before it was served. We also booked a massage, and the therapist was skilled and very affordable. We felt at home from the start and hope to see everyone again soon, for more than one night.

This is easily one of my favorite homestays in Bali. I felt surrounded by family and completely at home, and got to experience what felt like the real Bali, away from tourists, while learning about Balinese culture. I loved my stay. Thank you so much.

A lovely escape from Bali’s touristy side, with hosts and staff who are kind, helpful and accommodating. The villa sits on a pebbly beach, and after only a few strokes you can see coral, making it great for snorkeling. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a porch for eating or relaxing outdoors. The garden is lush and peaceful, and the good-sized pool has the scent of frangipani around it. A massage in the garden by the beach is a must.

We spent a week unwinding on the north shore, and the beach sunrises were beautiful. It’s a private-feeling oasis if you need to get away from everything. Having a massage outside with the ocean breeze and waves nearby was lovely, and affordable too. Breakfast and food service were great. For local cooking, there’s a restaurant a short walk up the drive. Warung Lah Pasih, owned by Wyam, made an excellent lobster meal and mixed drinks.

We had a very nice stay at this B&B. The hosts were generous with local tips, and the food was as good as at most places. There’s a kitchen if you’d rather cook, or a warung almost across the road. I read a recent guest review that seemed like a huge overreaction. For us, the food was very nice; the bathroom and bedroom didn’t fill with bugs. We chased away just one mosquito near the end of the wet season. The open garden, pool and direct access to the black sand and pebble beach were lovely. A narrow but good reef starts only a few metres out, ideal for a morning snorkel. The sunrises were wonderful, with Gunung Rinjani on Lombok in the distance. There are two Golden Retrievers on the property. We saw no hair in the pool, mouldy toys or anything like that. Our daughter was a little nervous around the dogs, and the hosts made an effort to keep them inside or in their separate garden area at the back. They didn’t bother us during our three days. Some host belongings, such as fins, masks and snorkels, are available to use. Local masseuses can come to the property. My wife and I had massages, and one of the women gave each of our children a short one too, so they could have the experience. If you expect a private villa with nobody else around, this may not suit you. It’s advertised as a B&B, and in my experience that means staying in the host’s home while they run the place and provide breakfast. These hosts did that and more. It’s hard to find a nicer place at such a reasonable price.
