Pebble & Fins Bali Dive Resort

The room was spacious enough, very clean, comfortable, and smelled really nice when we walked in. Miss Dea was especially kind and communicative, and the staff welcomed us with a drink while we waited for the room, with a beautiful beach view to enjoy. This was my second visit to Tulamben, and staying here made the trip even better. Definitely one of the best hotels in town. I’ll be back.

After a long motorbike ride, the friendly, helpful staff made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. I stopped at Pebble & Finns to rest during a birthday trip around Bali, and it ended up being the best stay of the whole journey. The room was so cozy and relaxing I almost forgot I had to get back on the road. Good food, a lovely view, and the whole atmosphere made my birthday getaway feel complete. I’d recommend it if you’re after a peaceful, heartwarming stay in Bali.

The shower setup was frustrating too. There was no screen or divider, so water covered the whole bathroom floor whenever we showered. The floor mat got soaked, the basin counter stayed wet, and housekeeping never replaced the wet mat during our stay. The water problem continued until checkout on the 25th, and there was no water when we left at 7:30 AM. We checked in on 20th September, and at first the supply only came on after 5:00 PM each day. On the 22nd, there was no water at all during the day. We were told a water pipe was broken or damaged. We tried to be understanding on the first two days, but having this carry on until the end was unacceptable. As some of the last guests to leave, it felt like we’d been left without even this basic necessity. After a dive, we wanted a shower and found the water off again. Management should have taken more active steps. On our last morning, I walked to the front desk in my pajamas with unbrushed teeth and got repeated apologies but no solution. Nobody offered an alternative. Even a few bottles of mineral water outside the room for washing would have helped, but there was nothing. Where was the resort manager? We expected better service and management from a resort of this standard. The lack of basic amenities and the poor handling of the ongoing issues overshadowed the stay. We were supposed to give at least four stars, but the persistent water problems made the experience frustrating.

The views were amazing! The crew at pebble and fins were attentive, answered all our questions, and helped arrange rides so we could sightsee away from the resort. They even remembered our names after a day, which made serving meals easy. Loved the milkshakes and calamari, and the corn pancakes were so good. The dive guides knew their stuff and looked out for us on every dive. We felt safe with them.
