Gordon gave us a tour of the gallery that's part of the restaurant, and I won't spoil it, but it's well worth seeing if you're there. This forest gem has to be one of the best restaurants in northern Bali. The food is outstanding in both flavor and presentation, and the attention to detail and flavor combinations make it memorable and not to be missed. Today was our third visit, and I'm sure we'll go at least once more. We've been twice for dinner and once for lunch, and every meal has been prepared to the same high standard. Each dish was like a work of art.

What made this experience even better was the price. For fine dining of this quality, with so much creativity, it's incredibly affordable. It's our third time at Cooking Mermaid, and it hasn't disappointed us once. The dishes are delicious, inventive and beautifully plated, with balanced, memorable flavors and real care in the details. The presentation alone is worth the visit, each plate looks like art. I've added a few photos because they say it better than I can. On our first visit we got a guided tour of the museum and painting gallery, which is part of the restaurant and gives the place such a unique character. The food, atmosphere, art and hospitality exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Cooking Mermaid is a hidden gem and one of the best dining experiences we've had. I'd give it six stars if I could. Highly recommend, and we'll be back!

GalleryCookery Mermaid, Jungle Resto & Bar is a great stop while exploring North Bali. With lush jungle views all around, it's a peaceful place to take a break and recharge. The food is creative, mixing local flavors with a modern touch, and the setting brings fine food, art and nature together with a unique gallery atmosphere. Mystical Buleleng has a real escape-from-the-world feel. Highly recommended for anyone visiting North Bali.

My husband and I loved our meal at Mermaid 🧜🏻‍♀️ Restaurant with Chef Gordon from the Netherlands. The quality and creativity completely surpassed what we expected; we never imagined finding food this good in this area. I really admire Gordon's courage and talent. This is a true hidden gem, with outstanding cooking, creative dishes and an art gallery. We wholeheartedly recommend a visit.
