Seaside Oceana Suites by Mahaprana

We started in the huge Ocean view suite, with a bathtub on the balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. Since it was booked for the second night, we moved downstairs to the more intimate garden view suite, and loved the painted art on the wall. The staff were always happy to help and did their best to make things suit us. We spent two nights away from busy Bali, watching fishermen set their nets each day, having dadar gulung and tea by the pool, and unwinding after the signature treatment at Soendaram Spa. It was such a nice chance to have time to ourselves.

The spa treatment is well worth trying. They tailor it to what you need, and by the end we were both so relaxed we nearly fell asleep. We also had an American breakfast and dinner one night, and both were delicious. We stayed in two rooms, one ocean view and one garden. The ocean-view room was roomier, while the garden room had a cosy feel we really liked. We’ll come back!

The beach is right out front, and the pool is amazing. The rooms were really spacious, and it was one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed. I ended up extending because I liked it that much!

We loved how remote and peaceful the location was, though it could be inconvenient if you need shops nearby since you’ll need a bike. The hotel arranged a motorbike for us that same night, which made it easy to explore. We also tried a couple of nearby cafes, but the food at Seaside Oceana Suites was so good there wasn’t much reason to go out, apart from visiting the beautiful temples and beaches. The hotel has a great spa, too. After a rejuvenating scrub and facial my skin was glowing, and the massage the next day was a 10/10. The rooms are spacious and look just like the pictures, and having yoga mats available was a thoughtful extra. Everyone on staff was friendly, spoke excellent English, and was always ready to help. This is easily the best hotel I’ve stayed at. It’s a peaceful escape from Ubud’s noise, with everything you need. For the quality and experience, the price felt too cheap, and I hope it doesn’t go up because I’d love to return. Big thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable stay!
