RedDoorz Plus @ Hotel Pantai Timor

After 35 hours on planes, I arrived at the hotel and found they'd given my room to someone else, even though I'd booked three nights. I hadn't been there the first night because I arrived at 6 a.m., so they prepared another room after a 20-minute wait. It had no window, was very dirty, and had lots of insects, including ants. The shower had no pressure and the cleaning system was completely broken. I showered, went to visit family, then came back to leave. The manager said they'd refund two nights, which I accepted, but after they canceled my room in the booking app, they took my money again. The worst hotel experience I've had, and my worst experience in Indonesia in six years.

The rooms are huge and good value, right in the city center by the sea. There's a good seafood restaurant next door, and the seafood street market is only a five-minute walk away.

From the hotel's spot beside Ketapang Satu beach, you can enjoy the sea breeze. It's clean and not too far from Kupang CBD.

The hotel is good for a Reddoorz, but staff should check everything before guests arrive. In my room, the bathroom had a major leak and the TV was broken.
