Banyu Urip Homestay

I wouldn’t recommend this place. My room seemed unclean, and the bathroom was a mess. There was no privacy, with no curtains and shutters that wouldn’t close any further. Someone also tried to open my door at night. The noise kept going. Staff yelled up and down the hallway around 12PM, then someone knocked very loudly on some doors at 4:30 the next morning. An hour later there was loud chatting and shouting again, with music playing. I opened my door and asked them to respect my wish to sleep that early in the morning, but it didn’t help. Very unpleasant.

You’re just a minute’s walk from the nightspots and places to eat, and Fresh mart next door has alcohol, European and Indonesian food, plus a fresh bakery and coffee shop. The accommodation is practically on the Main Street, with an upstairs restaurant and bar looking out over it. The staff were nice, the rooms clean, and there’s a lovely pool and parking out front. It’s inexpensive, though our room didn’t have aircon. I believe they do have rooms with it.

The shower was our one issue. The drain seemed partly blocked, so the bathroom turned into a pool while we showered. Still, we’d come back. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff very nice and courteous, and breakfast was excellent.

The place is central, though it can get noisy, and the rooms are good for the price. I came back on my second trip to Kuta mainly because I liked Yudi, the manager, so much. He’s one of the best people you’ll meet, extremely nice and helpful. The Wi-Fi is decent, breakfast tasty, and the pool clean. And Yudi really is the best.
