The guard at Bunut Garden was unfriendly from the start. We didn’t return his greeting when he welcomed us, and after that he kept finding fault. We were speaking normally, but he scolded us for shouting. Someone else was speaking much louder, even shouting “lol” while talking with the owner’s grandson, but the guard joined in instead of telling him off. The grandson knew we were chatting at a normal volume and said nothing about it. The guard was only there to watch the boarding house, but acted as if he owned it. When I stood up for myself and said we weren’t shouting, he stepped right in front of me like he was going to hit me. How dare he do that to a woman? If you like socializing with the neighbors, I really wouldn’t recommend this place. The guard seems to want a quiet, graveyard-like atmosphere, though he can shout when he brings friends. Boarders apparently aren’t allowed to dry their clothes either. I was told off for hanging clothes outside my room because the water was supposedly dripping and causing a flood. It was rainy season, so I’d drained the laundry in the bathroom for two days before hanging it out. I did that because I was worried it would rain again that afternoon while I was at work, and I’d checked that the clothes were almost dry and wouldn’t drip. I have a lot more complaints about how inconvenient the stay was. It’s a shame such a beautiful view is managed by someone with such a bad personality. Also, the toilet in my room wouldn’t flush.
