Kaniu Capsule Hostel

The pool area was a nice place to relax or socialize, and you can order food and drinks at the hostel. The staff were very supportive, whether helping arrange taxis to the harbor or answering questions. They also rent scooters right there, which makes getting around convenient. Everything was clean, with plenty of showers and a large shared bathroom. The capsules had more space than I expected, so I was comfortable. The upper ones were awkward for taking a backpack or personal items up, though, and there wasn’t much room downstairs to store them. It was also quite cold in the rooms, so bring something warm to sleep in. I really liked the hostel overall. It’s clean, spacious and well-equipped, with just a few comfort details to keep in mind.

The atmosphere was pretty chill, and it’s only a 10-minute walk from Main Street. Around the clean pool there’s a bean-bag area, plus a large common space for working or hanging out. Staff were friendly, the pool was clean, and you can book surf lessons, scooters, massages, padel courts and more from the hostel. The room and bathrooms were very clean, the bed super comfy, and the double capsule had plenty of room for two people and their things. There are bedside lights and a charging port inside, plus under-bed storage where you can lock belongings away. Food is available on-site, but gluten-free choices are limited to things like boiled eggs and fruit.

I hadn’t slept in a dorm for ages, but the pods were cosy and the beds comfortable. The nights were surprisingly quiet, and I never felt out of place, even being over 50. Hot showers and water refills were great. The staff were lovely. I have special respect for them serving food and drinks with so many smiles during Ramadan.

A great place for solo travellers, with friendly, supportive staff and a super chill crowd. The dorms were quiet at night, and there were good vibes with plenty of nice outdoor and indoor seating.
