Kuta Paradise

The staff are friendly, the pool is lovely, and breakfast comes with a beautiful sea view. If you don’t mind walking 20 minutes to town, the location could work well. The room was basic and could’ve used a fridge. There should be at least four more sunbeds. The diving centre sometimes uses the pool for dives, and during a big class guests can’t swim; they also leave their things on the only sunbeds. Breakfast is included, but cooking it fresh would help. The fried eggs were rubbery, as if they’d been made days earlier, and the poached eggs were always dry and hard. There was no information about lunch or dinner times. Our kettle kept tripping the electricity, so staff replaced it, but the new one took about 10 minutes to boil. The worst part was the rats. We heard scuffling and what sounded like chewing in the roof. Staff said they’d put a trap up there, but the noise continued, and we could hear rats gnawing inside the walls. At 5 a.m. on our last day, one came through the coving and dropped bits of ceiling onto my bedside table. I was glad it was our last day. I loved the place, and a few changes could make it amazing.

The staff were nice, but the place wasn’t maintained or as advertised. The pool was green, and most of the roof showers in the rooms weren’t working. We complained, left, and got our money back. It felt like the owner wasn’t putting money into the property and was letting it fall apart.

The cottages were clean, with air conditioning, and Wi-Fi worked well throughout the hotel. The owners were nice and always smiling. Room cleaning is available if you ask. The pool is very nice, and there’s greenery all around. Breakfast wasn’t anything special, but two items to choose from, along with tea and juice, was enough. I’d recommend staying here and will come back.

The staff were welcoming and humble, but nobody was at reception at night. The room was clean and spacious, with a queen bed, work table, TV, closet, water heater, and a clean bathroom stocked with amenities. The pool area had a quiet, breezy feel. Parking was tight, with room for maybe five cars and some motorcycles. It’s one of the hotels I’d recommend in Mandalika, close to the Mandalika circuit and right across from kuta mandalika beach.
