Masaya Retreat Lombok

The rooms were a good size, had cold air conditioning, and were cleaned every day. Staff were really friendly and did what they could to make sure we had what we needed and felt comfortable. Had an incredible stay at Masaya, and I’d definitely return.

Trimakasi! The room was beautiful and the pool was well looked after. Super and Easy were especially lovely. They always sent us off with the warmest goodbye and welcomed us back even more warmly when we came “home.” The people here are so kind. A solid 10 from us. Maaike Jager & Sharon 🇳🇱

Getting here is a little tricky, though it was no problem on a scooter. The place itself is really cute and well maintained, and the shower pressure was good, which is rare around here. Big thanks to Super, if I’ve got the spelling right, who made everything easy during our stay. We’ll be back.

We stayed four nights at Masaya Retreat, and the staff were very friendly. The place was lovely and especially clean compared with other places we’ve stayed in Indonesia, so paying a bit more felt worthwhile. Having a separate living area alongside the bedroom was nice, and there’s even a smart TV. We used the lovely pool every day, and the sunbeds were very comfortable. The guest water tap, coffee, and tea were a big plus. Without a motorbike, it felt a little far from the centre. Restaurants and shops are about a 30-minute walk away. Agra and Gojek don’t operate in Kuta, though the staff gave us details for a great local taxi company we used for other island trips. A few things might help bring it up to five stars: a small fridge in each apartment, more kitchenware, and dish soap. There’s a nice kitchen area with some appliances and utensils, but it’s hard to prepare meals without a fridge and enough equipment. Cushions on the outdoor benches would make them more comfortable, too. We didn’t get any housekeeping during our stay, not even fresh towels. It would be helpful to explain at check-in if that isn’t included, and perhaps offer a small refresh every other day or ask guests what they prefer. Thanks for having us, and all the best! :)
