A quaint little hotel with lovely rooms, very friendly staff, and a great breakfast. The only downside is there’s no safe in the rooms.

When I stayed here in 2022, I loved it, which is why I came back. The colorful, tasteful interior still has a charming blend of local touches, natural materials, and modern furniture. I especially liked the rooftop bar and its little plunge pool, a cozy place to sit with a nice view over town. The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant serves really good food, so I’d come back with high expectations. This visit was disappointing and raised health concerns. The place seems to have missed years of upkeep. My lower-floor room got no sunlight, and the bathroom only had a small slit window with a mosquito screen, so proper ventilation wasn’t possible. Moisture stayed trapped, and the bathroom wouldn’t dry after a shower. There was visible mold when I arrived. They put in a dehumidifier and air purifier, which was considerate, but also suggested they knew about the problem. Humidity stayed around 70%-80%, and the dehumidifier filled up fast. They’d painted over the mold instead of treating its source. The room smelled moldy, the bedding felt damp, and the woven ceiling was flaking and showing moisture damage. The mattress was old, sagging, and uncomfortable, a bad choice if you have back problems. I slept terribly. The room wasn’t properly clean either, and the whole place felt run down, with cracked tiles, peeling paint, and walls covered in mold touch-up repairs. The rooftop also looks like it hasn’t been refreshed in years. It’s a shame, because the place has a lot of potential. Noise was another big problem this time: parties and loud music nearby, street traffic, and people walking past or making noise early in the morning. It’s no longer a peaceful option if you want to relax or sleep early. When I raised this with the manager, I didn’t feel listened to. They didn’t offer a different room, a mattress topper, or even a simple apology. Instead, I was told, “You can check out.” I’d booked several nights and had hoped we could find a solution, so that made me feel unwelcome. This place used to be a hidden gem and still has charm, but it needs serious maintenance and more care in how guests are treated when problems come up. I hope the owners take this feedback seriously before the lovely concept gets lost to neglect.

The food was the highlight, honestly so tasty. I had one of the best sourdoughs I’ve ever tried, and the people were super friendly. We stayed five nights and it was one of my favorite places on the trip. Lovely location and cute rooms, though they can get a little humid and noisy at night. The price for what you get is really good. Would definitely recommend.

Staff were lovely and the breakfast was really good. The location’s good too. The room itself was damp and moldy, with a horrible smell, and generally a bit run down. It was also noisy from the street and neighbors, so bring earplugs. With some maintenance on the rooms, this could be a great place to stay.
