Villa Karma Legian

Cantik is the first villa in the row, so it's closest to the coffee shop at the front of the gang, where they have great croissants. Shopping and all the action are right there too. It’s a lovely little place that lives up to the name Villa Cantik. My son and I stayed in early November and had a great visit. The pool is a good size, with some sun and some shade, and I found the water comfortable, just right for cooling off and relaxing for an hour or two. The beds are very comfortable, and the showers have good hot and cold water pressure. Inside, the neutral decor feels fresh and new. I wondered on the first night if I'd made a mistake because I could hear loud music from nearby Y-bar. It only lasted a little while, then quieted down, and I didn't hear it again. Great value, relaxing, and right in the middle of things. I highly recommend Villa Cantik.

Deddy's coffee shop is right outside, and the villa opens straight onto the main streets, so the location is amazing. The rooms were clean and nice, and staff came each morning to freshen things up. The weather was the real disappointment. We only got one sunny day, and we won't be back in Bali in December. There was a huge yellow legged hornet, or wasp, hanging around the upstairs master bedroom. It was in my room the day I arrived, then I didn't see it for about five days, before finding it on the balcony outside that bedroom. The downstairs bedroom air-conditioning is absolutely immaculate, but the upstairs master wasn't good. I set it to 16.5 and it still felt like 24. Some of the doors and handles are stiff, and a few doors wouldn't stay shut no matter how many times I tried.

Ketut was wonderfully friendly, and the daily cleaners did a great job. The villa had drinking water and free WiFi, and Netflix on every TV kept the kids happy. We also liked the cold pool and the privacy. It looked just like the photos, and the bedrooms have plenty of storage. The upstairs air-conditioning, especially in the main room, wasn't very effective. I set it to 16 degrees and the room still didn't feel that cool. A few doors were hard to open or close, and one jammed, but Ketut came quickly and got it open. There were soooo many mosquitoes! It's right in the heart of Legian, just a few steps from Y Bar, which has the best food and drinks. Even so, it wasn't too noisy at night. I'd stay here again.

The location in Legian made it easy to get around. Good coffee is just 20m from the entrance, and Katrina spa, with the girls in blue, is 30m away for all the treatments you could wish for. Restaurants including Fat Bowl, Asian spice, Macan & Mozzarella are all within 500m. It's an easy 1km walk to the beach for a beanbag and icy cold Bintangs at sunset. Y Bar is 100m away, but not much noise reached the villa in the evenings. We stayed at “Villa Cantik” for 8 nights in early July 2025. The arranged airport pickup and drop offs were flawless, both for comfort and timing. The villa has a pleasant pool area that gets little sun during the day, plus an open kitchen, living and dining space. There are three spacious bedrooms, each with an ensuite. Friendly local staff cleaned the villa daily. A great place to stay. David & Petra (Australia)
