The luxe villas lombok

The peaceful surroundings, authentic local feel, and good internet and mobile connection were exactly what we wanted, even though Kuta Town is 10 minutes away by scooter. Hery was incredibly kind and generous with his time. He arranged transport from the port, scooters for our arrival, and plenty of recommendations for Lombok. The room had good aircon, a kitchen for cooking, and everything we needed for a self-catered stay. The local dogs were a bonus, keeping us company in the evenings and greeting us whenever we got back.

The family are so nice and always happy to help. The place is quite far from the city centre, but you can rent a scooter there cheaply. Be careful when booking through a website, as there are different rooms for different budgets, and the photos don't make that clear. Pay $$$ and you get the best place, while $ gets you the cheapest option, with a cold shower, a not-so-comfortable bed, and so on.

We chose the sasak room for a budget stay and it was just right. The A/C was amazing, and the hosts were wonderful. We had breakfast every morning, and the woman made a fantastic mie goreng and went out of her way to look after us. After months of travel, my backpacks were ripped, so she sewed them for 50k, and they look amazing. We also used the laundry service. She got month-old stains out, and our clothes smelled amazing. Highly recommend!

We stayed for over a month and it was super quiet, with only a couple of occasions when there was another guest. It's very green, with a spot to relax outside your room. If you need a hideout, this is a good place to go. About 5 minutes by scooter to the centre of Kuta.
