A warning about two things I booked through the hostel. I tried to rent a scooter for €4, the normal price, but none of the scooters offered seemed road-legal. Each one had something broken, and they were covered in dust. I got the impression they hadn’t been used for two years. I also wouldn’t book a hostel connection to Kuta or similar destinations. I don’t think the hostel itself knows what’s happening, but the transport deal felt like a massive scam. I paid 760,000 Rupiah, about €38, for a trip from the hostel to the harbor, the speedboat, and onward from the harbor to Kuta. At the harbor, the person waiting as agreed told me the bus wouldn’t come for two hours, then tried to pressure me into a taxi for 3,000,000 Rupiah, about €150, promising a two-hour trip without stops. He said he’d deduct the €38 I’d already paid because he was “fair,” so I’d owe €112 😂. Then he kept lowering the price until he offered to drive me for €20. That wasn’t what the hostel had agreed with me, but the other side seemed focused on making money however they could. I’d book a flight back to Bali or wherever you’re going to save time and nerves. My trip from Kuta (Lombok) to Bali took eight hours in total. By plane it’s 45 minutes and cheaper. I hope the hostel changes this for future guests.

A nice hostel, with comfy places to hang out and meet other travellers. They have family dinner Tuesday through Sunday, which is a great excuse to get to know people. Yoga classes were on for the first two days, with Kelly, whose name I might have wrong, who was super nice. Coffee and tea in the morning too. Some of the beds could use improvement. I moved beds three times.

The hostel has such a great vibe. The owner and team look after everyone and encourage people to meet, chat, and explore Lombok. The rooms are really comfortable, and Lorenzo, the surf instructor, was always glad to offer tips or recommend the best surf spots based on his experience reading the forecast. I’ll definitely be back!

What made the stay especially fun was how welcoming everyone was, and it sounds like plenty of guests return. I had a great time here. The yoga classes were amazing, and there were nice extras they don’t even advertise, including free yoga and family dinners each day. Renting a scooter was very cheap, and the security guard was lovely and helped me sort it out. One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in in Indonesia.

The room, especially the bathroom, was disgusting. It looked nothing like the photos, so I felt completely misled. At check-in, the receptionist asked me to pay in cash again even though I’d already paid online. Worst hostel I’ve stayed at in a while. I’m left wondering whether the good reviews are fake. 🤮
