The quiet private beach has their house reef, and the snorkeling there was the best. Amazing place, with great staff and food.

Our favorite part was the coral reef right outside the door. We saw baby sharks, sea horses, a turtle and so many kinds of fish. The whole stay at Angel Island Eco Resort was amazing, and for the experience it offers, it’s extremely affordable. My husband and I stumbled across it while looking for somewhere near Labuan Bajo for a few unplanned nights on our honeymoon. It felt like a dream, and I can’t imagine the trip without it. Our cabin was huge and felt luxurious, with thoughtful extras: a water cooler, a container to carry water to the beach, a beach bag to use, citronella coils for mosquitoes, and biscuits, likely a British touch from the owner, who, contrary to a prior review, hasn’t sold. The staff were so kind, friendly and helpful that we felt spoiled. Special thanks to Cristo, Ofan, Ano and Myo, and sorry about my spelling. The included breakfast had several choices and generous portions. I’m tempted to keep the place secret, but it deserves an amazing review. Thank you, Angel Island Eco Resort.

It felt like a second honeymoon. Our cabin was spectacular, the island was quiet, and there were plenty of places to stretch out, either on the beach or in the library rotunda. We even left the cabin unlocked. Only one other couple showed up on our second day, followed by two more on the third. The sunset setup was lovely: at 5:00 pm they brought beanbag chairs onto the beach so we could watch comfortably. We also kayaked around the island and spent a couple of days snorkeling the reef with gear they lent us. The coral was gorgeous, the best I've seen, and we even spotted a little shark. Everything was clean, and the trails were well kept. Staff were available around the clock. The waterside restaurant had lots of delicious options, and I thought the prices were fair. We enjoyed wine and beer too. Transport was all arranged, and they packed us a box lunch for the boat ride back to Labuon Bajo.

We really liked how secluded and private the place felt, with a lovely beach and house reef. The bungalows are huge, spotless, and tucked into greenery. The beach was clean too. We had read an earlier review about plastic washing ashore, but during our stay anything that came in was removed right away. The staff were friendly and helpful. Meals are all à la carte, and you pay separately for everything, including breakfast. We found the prices reasonable. The one thing that didn't quite live up to the rest of the resort was the food quality.

The quiet here really stayed with us: waves and birds all day, with none of the city noise. We also loved the wildlife around the beach, from turtles and baby sharks to sting rays, clown fish, groupers, and octopuses. Seeing new coral growing close to shore was encouraging. The main beach was lovely, and staff cleared litter several times a day. They were happy to take the trash we picked up while snorkeling too. The paths were swept of fallen leaves just as often. Our room was enormous and very clean, with lots of thoughtful extras like an espresso machine, water dispenser, board games, and flashlights. The outdoor bathroom had its own little garden, two showers, and room to dry clothes. Every afternoon they sprayed for mosquitoes, then closed the curtains and left candy by the bed. We felt spoiled. Staff were always available, handled requests thoughtfully, and even shared afternoon snacks. The snorkeling and kayak gear were free to use, which meant we could enjoy the beautiful coral almost to ourselves. A couple of things could be better. The food and cocktails didn't match the standard of the room, service, and atmosphere, even after we tried several dishes. They did accommodate little requests, like boiled potatoes. The second beach, where you watch the sunset, needs the same attention as the main one, and there was no spa or massage service. We'd suggest adding massages as an optional service, like laundry, and putting out some trash bins so guests have an easier way to help care for the place.
