La Boheme Bajo

The good things were the tasty breakfast, free water refills and the location. The rooms have a decent amount of space, but I found the hostel expensive for what you get, and only suitable for a night or two. The curtains let in lots of light and barely offered privacy. The beds were uncomfortable and creaked when I moved, and thin walls meant lots of noise from people in the common areas. There were plenty of bathrooms, but they weren't very clean and almost never had toilet paper.

The on-site restaurant served good food at fair prices, with decent portions, and the simple place was comfortable enough to sleep in. It was probably my second-best option in Labuan Bajo. I stayed because my first choice was fully booked, and this was still a pleasant backup. I'd stay again if my top choice weren't available.

It's a rustic hostel with a good hostel vibe, and breakfast is free. Laundry costs 25k per kg. The private rooms have bathrooms outside, and they drain straight into the river beside the hostel. Being right by the water sounds like a plus, but you can't swim there at all because the water is filthy, so it's not much of an advantage.

The staff were some of the nicest we've met, and reception was really helpful with bike rentals, airport transfers and ideas for daytime activities. The location is good, and the hostel is adorable. We loved the social area upstairs, with a pool and ping pong as well as places to relax and read. The restaurant had great food for cheap, rooms were good, and the bathrooms were cleaned regularly. My group absolutely loved it and couldn't recommend it more to anyone staying in Bajo!
