Maxima Pearl Hotel

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location made it easy to get to shops and restaurants. The views are lovely, depending on which room you’re in. Towels and sheets were clean, and tea, coffee, and water were complimentary. A lovely stay at Maxima Pearl Hotel, recommended!

The location is great, the rooftop view is really nice, and the AC worked alright. The bed didn’t seem clean, and there was no duvet cover, just a sheet. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. There were small things missing too, like a bottle of water, and there were no rooftop lights. I’ve stayed in worse rooms, but probably not for this price.

A sea-facing balcony is available on every level for 200k. For 400k, you can get a private balcony and a much bigger room. It’s a great budget hotel, in a handy spot right beside the very busy Italian restaurant la cucina.

The bathroom was dirty, with urinal cakes scattered around to cover the smell from leaking toilets. The air conditioner was so filthy that hardly any air came through. In the room, the sheets were old, dirty and ripped, and the mattress was uncomfortable, without proper springs. The whole place smelled bad and felt unclean. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in Indonesia. If this is the only bed left in town, I’d rather sleep outside.
