The staff really made our stay. They even brought an omelette as a complimentary treat on our last day. When I left my shoes behind, one of them kindly delivered them to the harbour while we were waiting to board the ferry. Best hotel, best service, best staff. We’ll stay again on our next visit to Bintan.

Onyx Hotel & Villa may be small, but the service felt five-star from the minute I arrived. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, and the care was consistent from the manager through to the rest of the team. I also met the general manager, I think his name was Mr. David, though I’m not sure I have that right. I could see why the service is so good, he seemed to set the tone. The room was beautifully designed, well kept, and had what I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly, knew their stuff, and made me feel at home. With the lovely surroundings and thoughtful service, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Tanjung Uban.

The bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom had plenty of space. The hotel also gave us an extra hour to check out after an unexpected flat tyre delayed our whole trip by an hour. Kevin was a real good Samaritan. Book Onyx Hotel for the caring customer support.

The staff themselves were good, kind people, but my group dinner last night was disappointing. We’d ordered the food a day ahead, and it still wasn’t made according to the menu we requested. From my earlier experience, restaurant food and beverage service and WiFi in the villa rooms were both poor. The manager’s replies felt dismissive throughout.

A decent business hotel at a more than reasonable price. The room was clean and neatly set up, and check-in went smoothly. The front desk staff were helpful, especially when explaining the breakfast choices.
