Starlet Hotel BSD City

For a budget stay, this is a nice, comfortable place, especially for a short trip to catch a concert or event at ICE BSD. There's a convenience store on the first floor. Basic service doesn't include sandals or a toothbrush, though you can ask the receptionist for them at an extra charge. At night, motorcycle gangs race around the area and can make it pretty noisy.

Parking is very limited. If the building lot is full, you'll most likely have to park on the street 50-100 metres from the hotel. Rooms facing the main road are very noisy. The sheets looked like they might be clean, but they were definitely stained. For a short transit or basic overnight stay, the place is decent enough. A good cafe and convenience store are on the lower floors, and the hotel canteen has a decent fresh coffee vending machine.

The room is clean and the bed and pillows are comfortable, but it's small, so I'd say it's best for one person or two at most. I stayed for one night on a business trip, and the location worked well for the city centre of BSD City, South Tangerang. Foresta Business Lofts is within walking distance, while Aeon Mall and ICE BSD are about a 5-10 minute drive, depending on traffic. The hotel sits beside a main road, so the room can be a bit noisy at night. The receptionist is on the 3rd floor, with an Alfamart minimart in the lobby and Pagi Sore Restaurant, serving Padang cuisine, right next to the hotel. Both Standard Twin Room and Standard King Room have an ensuite bathroom and toilet. There's a mini safe, two bedside tables, a flat-screen TV, AC, free wifi, and a water bottle with two small glasses. There's no wardrobe, just a couple of clothes hangers, and no mineral water. Bathroom supplies are basic: liquid soap that doubles as shampoo in a dispenser, hot and cold shower, two bath towels, a bath mat, and a roll of tissue. A toothbrush and toothpaste pack costs IDR25,000 extra, so bring your own toiletries.

I stayed here for Comifuro 16 and had a very pleasant visit. I booked for less than Rp. 300k/day, and found other booking websites cheaper than the hotel's own site, though prices can change on weekends or holidays. Check-in was a good experience, with friendly staff. It's kind of far from restaurants if you want to order online, and I took Grab to ICE BSD for about Rp. 16-18k without promo. For a 1-star hotel, it was great. There's a convenience store and cafe, and the room was clean and nice. Mine had a huge floor-length mirror, two bedside tables with storage, and a folding table by the window. There was still space to pray, with the qiblat direction marked, and the TV had some good channels. The bed had a good bounce and the pillow was comfortable, though a bit too firm for me. AC worked really well and all the lights were working. They provide a glass bottle to fill at the water dispensers in the corridor, plus two drinking glasses. The bathroom was cool and clean, with a big sink and mirror, an exhaust fan, hot showers, soap/shampoo, and towels. Toothbrush and toothpaste aren't included in the original price, but you can buy them at the front desk for Rp. 20k or get them from the convenience store. Breakfast is optional, but it's not a buffet. I skipped it and bought instant noodles downstairs instead. The convenience store closes at 11 p.m. There's also a work station on the 3rd floor near the lobby, but it has no AC and gets hot, so the folding table in the room may be more comfortable.
