Puteri Gunung Hotel

The staff were friendly, but the stay was a waste of money and very uncomfortable for my family. We booked four rooms for four nights and ended up looking for another hotel. For that length of stay, we expected basic cleanliness, but the place felt neglected. The rooms had no air conditioning or fans, and with all the dust and musty odor, the lack of airflow made things unbearable. Dust covered every surface, cupboards included, and the smell made it hard to breathe comfortably. The bathroom smelled of urine, and someone else’s fake eyelashes were still in the sink. The sheets were stained and looked unchanged, while the towels were dingy and almost black. The seating had deep stains and felt too dirty to use. The beds were far too soft and offered no support. They also made a lot of noise whenever we shifted or moved.

The refund issue was eventually sorted out. After returning and contacting the staff member who had promised it, I received the refund. There had been a communication mix-up between the hotel and the booking platform, so the hotel wasn’t to blame. The staff stayed in touch until it was settled, and I appreciate that. That doesn’t change how run-down the hotel feels. It could be beautiful, near the mountains just outside inner Bandung, but it needs a lot of cleaning and maintenance first. We found mold in the damp rooms, stains on the yellow sheets, and hairs in the bed. The smell was awful and unhealthy. We were shown two other rooms, but they had the same problems. At first, staff said we could request a refund through booking, but it was rejected. After the refund was granted, I changed my rating and this review.

The rooms are old and haven’t been renovated, though the place itself is nice. The food is good enough for the price. Maybe with a bit of renovation, we’ll come back.

It felt creepy at night, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you have no other choice. The hotel seemed very old, dirty, and badly maintained. The rooms were worn out, with tired furniture and a musty smell. I don’t think they change the sheets, pillowcases, or blankets between guests. Cleanliness was a real problem, and the bathroom didn’t feel hygienic. The whole place felt weary and unwelcoming, and needs renovation.
