Villa de Rossa

We booked through Traveloka for three people, at about 361k IDR, and arrived at 4:30 am on the day we were due to check out. The staff had our name noted and showed us to the room. It was fairly spacious, with one double bed and one single. Thick curtains kept the room dark enough to sleep even though it was already bright outside. Breakfast could be brought to the room or eaten in the dining hall. I'd read a few reviews saying the fried rice wasn't good, but we thought it was amazing that day. The staff were friendly too.

The street is narrow, but the accommodation itself was clean and good. Our double queen room was nice, and there was a pleasant garden inside the property. The staff were friendly, and the weekend price of 505K IDR was very reasonable. I'd recommend it for families with children.

The receptionist was polite, but the room condition shocked us. We checked in at 10 pm, then left right away once we realized we couldn't spend the night there. There was no soap, not even for washing our hands, a cockroach on the bathroom wall, and no toilet seat cover. The floor looked as if it hadn't been swept or mopped in weeks. I really, really don't recommend this place, whatever your budget.

Having rooms with three or four beds is convenient for families traveling together. But hygiene needs a lot of work. There was a dead little mouse floating in the small pond outside our room, a blood or brown stain on the pillowcase, and lots of used tissues under the bed. :(
