We arrived and immediately felt unwelcome. Promised amenities were missing, and staff didn’t seem in a hurry to deal with our concerns. There was no air conditioning in reception or the dining area, so sitting or eating in 30°C heat was unbearable. The pool was dirty and slippery. Our room smelled strongly of damp, the walls had mould, and the bathroom wasn’t clean. Even the bottled water came with unsealed caps, which was unacceptable. The property is advertised as four star, but barely feels like a one or two star hotel and urgently needs renovation. We also had constant construction noise for three nights, and the food was extremely poor. We booked our Bali holiday through Voyage Privé, which explicitly promised four and five star accommodation. In reality, this hotel would barely qualify as two star by European standards. We travelled from England expecting comfort and cleanliness, and if those are what you’re after, this isn’t the hotel for you. The construction noise lasted all three nights, and the food was very poor. Photos will be provided.

The view and pool area were incredible, especially for watching the sunrise. This beautiful little sactuary is further from restaurants, beaches and bars, but the island is small and the staff run a shuttle to the main spots. If you miss it, they’re always helpful about arranging scooter pick-up and drop-off. Sincere thanks to all the staff, especially Ryan and Riki, for their wonderful hospitality. The cleaning staff and food were exceptional too.

It felt like our own little sanctuary, with incredible views and really kind, friendly staff. We loved the food, the drinks were nice, and the massages were amazing too. A great place to get away from the bustle. It’s a bit out of town along a bumpy road, but the shuttles and taxi service were handy. We ended up renting a scooter and got to know our way around the island. Thanks for having us at the Acala!

We loved staying here and would definitely come back. The views across to Penida and Ceningan are amazing, and the sparkling clean pool sits among tropical plants. Our room was meticulously cleaned, with a powerful shower and aircon that worked excellently. Manager Nur, I think, was attentive and professional, and all the staff were friendly and amazing.

From the mountain, the hotel has a magnificent view of the bay and island, and the pool is a lovely place to chill with that view. It might feel too small if the hotel were fully occupied. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms were good for the price. The yellow bridge is within walking distance. I recommend seeing it around 15:30, when it gets fully chaotic. We enjoyed our stay.
