Kubu Nusa Bungalow

For a very budget stay close to the main strip, the room was reasonably clean and had space to move around. There was plenty of bench space in the bathroom, a big shower, and a nice porch with a table and seats. The staff were very friendly. Inside, though, there were no chairs, the dusty blinds didn’t work, the air conditioner was broken, and there weren’t enough power points. We ran out of toilet paper, and when I asked, they were out too. The young lady kindly ran to the shop right away and brought some to our room. They also hired out good bikes for around AUD$8 a day.

The little garden with its outdoor table really added to the charm, and the hosts were nice. They offer laundry service and arrange tours around Nusa Penida. We took the tour to the eastern side of the island, which was spectacular. Very good value for the price.

The nights were so calm and quiet, and the homestay has a relaxed, cozy feel. The owners and staff were kind and easy to deal with. My room was clean, with hot water and wifi. I’d happily stay again if I came back 😍

The host was very understanding when I missed the 10am checkout and didn’t leave until 11.30. They didn’t charge me extra. It’s a small budget place just off Jungutbatu’s main street, with clean, roomy rooms. I was on the first floor and the sunset view was lovely.
