The beach was only 100 metres away, and the water was clear enough to snorkel straight from shore. It was VERY quiet, and the staff helped us hire a scooter at a great rate. We stayed at the Sunjaya for five days and it was perfect. There were two big queen beds with nearly new mattresses, cold air con, and really friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Breakfast was good, as was the salt water/chlorine pool. Highly recommended if you’re after a quiet, fun getaway as a couple or family. We’ll be back!

The pool was really nice, the restaurant was okay and cheaper than most around there, and our room was clean with a hot shower. It’s generally a nice hotel, though it could use some updating. The power went out for about an hour on our second day. I’m not sure if that happens often. At 4am, we could hear an animal trying to scratch through the wall for about an hour.

It’s a budget spot, one minute’s walk from the beach, for 350k a night per room. The room was clean and spacious, with hot water and air con, and breakfast was included. There’s a pool too. Good value if you’re okay with getting there on the bumpiest “road” ever.

The location was convenient when we arrived by boat at mushroom beach, but our group was disappointed with the stay. Everyone commented that their rooms weren’t clean and everything looked worn. In our room, there were odd brown splashes around the toilet and hairballs on the floor, so we asked for it to be cleaned before we settled in for our one night.

It’s cheap, very close to the beach where boats load and unload passengers, and there are lots of good restaurants nearby. You can rent a motorcycle or buy a snorkeling package at reception. The water was a bit salty, though, so bring extra mineral water.
