Breakfast was a letdown. I came down around 8 am, with service scheduled until 10, but the food was cold and the trays were empty. Nobody refilled them, and even the infused water was gone. We pay for breakfast, so it shouldn't feel like you're being given leftover food because you arrived late. The toilet barely flushed. I called a technician, who spent 25-30 minutes working on it, then told me it needed to fill before I could flush. If that was all it needed, why did it take so long? I booked a deluxe room directly through WhatsApp about two weeks ahead, after staff told me that was the only room type with a safety box. I chose it and paid more for that feature. On arrival, after I warned them I’d be late because I was taking the train, they said my room would be ready. But when I asked about the box, they said it needed fixing. I waited about 15 minutes, went downstairs to check, then went out for food since it was already around 10 pm. The engineer came 2-3 minutes after I returned and spent about 30 minutes trying, without even the right key. He offered to bring another box that wouldn’t be attached to the wall or cabinet. That would have been no safer than leaving my things in my bag. Only then did he mention that every room guest could use the safety box at reception. I was disappointed to pay extra for something available with a cheaper room, so I used the reception box instead. I stayed two nights, and the poor service left me unsure about coming back. Staff need to look after guests, prepare rooms properly, and make sure things work before guests arrive. Maybe management doesn't care whether I return, since I'm only one of many guests.
