Hotel Safira Magelang

The location is easy to find, with restaurants, a cafe, and a mini market nearby, but it’s also close to a military facility. There were often military students getting on and off buses in front of or near the hotel, and, since that makes me a bit uneasy, I couldn’t relax. Staying in my room all day wasn’t an option either. The response from staff was pretty good, and perhaps they would fix the room if you told reception, but mine had cracked walls and a bed cover with yellowish stains and holes. The blankets also set off my allergies. The bathroom and toilet worked well, and there was hot water. No liquid soap was provided, just shampoo, a small bar of soap, and standard dental kits. The food was good enough, though the hotel restaurant didn’t offer an early omelette for guests who got up early.

Magelang is a nice city to explore, so you probably won’t want to spend much time in your room. This place is quite good, though not excellent. It’s enough for ordinary travelers who just need a decent room to sleep and bathe in.

The service was really poor, and the hotel didn’t seem well managed from the entrance to the room. Safira Hotel Management, please give clear instructions and train the staff so visitors receive warm hospitality. The food wasn’t very good either, with bland flavors that felt like low-end food. Please improve every detail of the hotel’s hospitality.

I visited during Ramadhan and enjoyed the delicious all-you-can-eat suhoor. The receptionists and waitresses were lovely and kind. The hotel provides complete toiletries and cable TV, and the price is affordable. It’s near Magelang town square and not too far from Artos, the city’s famous mall. The views nearby are great, and mornings are peaceful and cool. You can see the fog until 6 a.m.
