Saraswati Borobudur

After a double massage session by the pool, I realized I’d misplaced my watch. I asked the hotel for help and requested to see the CCTV footage, but was told the cameras weren’t working. The manager seemed doubtful about my claim and went with the staff’s version of events. They offered no compensation and told me to take it up with the police. It was a disappointing experience, with too little service or support, so I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

The hotel’s on the main road, just about a three-minute walk from the Borobudur ticket locket. It has an old-fashioned feel but was super clean, and breakfast was delicious with big portions. Service was superb, including letting us check in early, before 1 PM. We stayed one night for a sunrise or Borobudur trip and would definitely come back.

The location is perfect, less than a two-minute walk from the temple. I loved the beautiful, peaceful pool and relaxing lounge chairs, and the rooms were incredibly comfortable. Staff were really helpful, both in person and via whatsapp. We ate at the hotel restaurant several times and were never disappointed. Prices were reasonable, and I recommend the curry, which isn’t spicy. Would definitely recommend! 🛕✨️

The setting has an old French colonial style feel, and it’s one of the better hotels right in front of Borobudur. There are plenty of groceries, food options, and night hawker stalls just outside. Service was good, and I bought my Borobudur tickets at reception. The pool and courtyard are nice, and amenities are available. My experience was decent. The rooms are old, with high ceilings, but generally well maintained. The bathrooms are small, and water sprays around from the shower, so they need more maintenance.
