Aston Makassar Hotel & Convention Center

We had a decent four-night stay, though a few things could be better. The buffet repeated dishes over two days, including Sop Saudara. The shower gel in our room was empty or broken, and it still hadn’t been fixed the next day after we left a note for housekeeping. We could also hear the neighbors easily through the connecting room, which didn’t block much sound. On the bright side, the beds were comfortable, the Losari view from the pool was wonderful, and the service stood out. One person checking guests in at the buffet was especially thoughtful and kind, even wishing us good health, though he wasn’t there on Sunday. The pool closing at 7:00 PM felt a bit early.

The rooms were clean and nice, the gym was good, and the location was central. Reception staff were kind. It feels more like 3.5 stars, but I’ll give it 4. Breakfast wasn’t anything special. It’s meant to run until 10am, but by 9am nearly all the food was gone, there was no refill, and they were already cleaning the whole dining area. It felt like they wanted guests out an hour early. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning, but from 7am they slammed doors, moved furniture, and talked so loudly in the hallways that it woke me up. The AC was basically impossible to adjust and only cooled to 23-25 degrees celcius.

The food was tasty, varied, and nicely presented, and the staff were very friendly. I had a lovely stay at Aston Hotel, thank you. It would be nice to see a wider breakfast selection, maybe with more regional specialties. I hope they keep up the friendly, professional service too.

The sky pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and gym all have lovely city views, and the hotel also supports a go green approach to tourism. It’s one of the popular hotels in makassar, with modern facilities and a beautiful view. Staff are kind, the food is delicious, and the service feels five-star. A good pick for a relaxing vacation or business trip in makassar when you want a top-notch view.
