Safa deserves a special mention for responding quickly and treating us with respect. The service was good, and the place worked well enough for a longer stay. I had a good experience overall.

The river view was the highlight, and the room was comfortable, though it could have been cleaner. Mbak Helga gave us a lovely welcome at check-in, while Pak Olik and the restaurant team were friendly and genuinely cheerful. This was our second stay at Bess Resort, and we had a great time. It’s a relaxing spot to spend time with family, and the price is affordable. We’d happily come back.

A big plus for us was how easy it was to get around in a wheelchair. There’s a ramp from the lobby to the dining area, which made things convenient for the wheelchair user and caregiver. The pool area is fun too, with a small waterpark for little kids and a mini infinity pool facing the wild river and rice fields. The rooms are standard, with the usual amenities. If you’re travelling solo or just need a simple air-conditioned room and a clean bathroom with a hot shower, this place works. It’s in a residential area in Lawang, so it’s quiet, and security patrols the grounds. The location is handy, not too far from the Lawang toll road. If you want to avoid the crowds in Malang or Batu, this could suit you. It’s also closer to Bromo/Penanjakan than Batu or Malang, for anyone planning a visit there.
