Bobopod AlunAlun Malang

I liked the Bobopod because it gives you privacy at a low price. I had a double pod to myself. Packing your things might be difficult in the smaller ones. The monitor for changing the lights and sound was great. There's also a kitchen and free water. The mattress was too hard, and the AC made it quite cold at night. I asked for an extra blanket, and they brought one after I asked another time. There was a mechanism to turn off the AC, but mine made weird sounds, so I left it on. Mornings were really noisy, with voices, alarms, and everything else. I was lucky to have an upper bed instead of one on the ground. Bring earplugs. The bathroom situation was what I liked least. I never saw anyone cleaning it. They ask you to leave your shoes outside the bathroom, but I don't want to use the toilet without shoes when it feels dirty. The showers always had hair in them, and the toilet seats were never really clean. At least there was sanitizer. Only once did someone ask if I wanted the room cleaned. After that, no one did, and I had the same towel for 3 nights. There was black hair in my room's trash, which was disgusting and made it seem like it hadn't been cleaned before. It would be nice if staff shared recommendations for things to do nearby. They should improve cleanliness, and a fridge in the kitchen would be great. The coffee machine should also work for people without an Indonesian bank account.

For solo travel, I think this is the best budget hotel: good service, location, cleanliness, and price. Check-in is at 14 and checkout at 12, standard times. Install the bobobox apps before arriving, since you handle payment and room settings there. There’s a cafeteria or pantry and a smoking area. You can probably walk to the town square and kayutangan area. Enjoy your trip.

The location is perfect, and you get a lot for the price. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the bathrooms were spotless. Unlimited filtered water was a nice extra. The rooms are high-tech, with Bluetooth speakers, fun mood lighting, and good AC. Towels and slippers are provided. I'd definitely stay again.

I couldn't sleep at all. At 4am people were yelling, laughing, and talking outside my door, and nobody from the hostel helped when I asked them to quiet down. Some staff even joined in. I've stayed in hostels across many countries and never encountered people this disrespectful. I paid 20euros for nothing. I would have been better off in the street. In a place where you can hear absolutely everything, you need to make sure the rules are actually followed.
