Grand Mercure Malang Mirama

I left Sydney for a holiday in Asia without expecting to discover Malang, a charming Indonesian city. When I think of Indonesia, Bali and Jakarta usually come to mind, so I’m grateful I ended up here. A big part of my enjoyment came from the hospitality at Grand Mercure Malang Mirama. The warmth felt genuine and heart-borne, and stayed consistent both during and outside fasting times. Across my travels in several other countries, I haven’t experienced Indonesian hospitality quite like this. Every part of Grand Mercure Malang felt welcoming. At the restaurant, I had breakfast and a Breaking of Fast Ceremony Dinner. The teams serving both meals were caring and warm, and made me feel like family. The atmosphere was calm, friendly, and local, a welcome change from the hectic, fast-paced, in-and-out dining I’ve seen at other Accor hotels. There was a clear pride in Malang and Indonesia from every team member I met. The menu included dishes from around the world, but Malang and Indonesian food received special attention, and the local dishes were tremendously delicious. Ms. Dyta checked me in, and was warm, knowledgeable, experienced with Accor, and an exemplary ambassador for Indonesian hospitality. Front Office Manager, Mr. Noel, also represented that hospitality wonderfully. The whole Front Office Team deserves a mention for its calm, professional approach, warmth, and attention to detail. My room was high quality in every way. The misty, rainy weather affected the view during my stay, but I found the room entertainment options more extensive than in many other hotels. This Mercure really is Grand, while still feeling personal and heart-warming. At times, I felt like I was staying in someone's big home. It’s one of my favourite Accor hotels among the ones I’ve stayed in across several countries.

Breakfast was enjoyable, with a nice mix of local and international choices. Even when the spacious dining area got a little busy, it stayed calm. I also liked the clean, well-designed pool and public areas as a place to unwind. At Grand Mercure Malang Mirama, the staff were genuinely warm and helpful from arrival, and check-in felt smooth and welcoming. The room was quiet, clean, modern, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was a highlight after a long day, and small touches made things feel premium without going overboard. It’s easy to get to and convenient whether you’re in Malang for work or a short getaway. It felt like a hotel that understands comfort and consistency. I’d consider staying again and recommending it to friends or family visiting Malang.

The room had plenty of space, was comfortable, and came with everything I needed. The hotel was modern, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional from arrival through checkout. The pool and public areas were especially good for relaxing, and the location was strategic and easy to reach. My stay at Grand Mercure Malang Mirama exceeded expectations. I’d recommend it and would be glad to come back.
