Hotel Aloha Malang

The best thing about Hotel Aloha is where it is, and the value is hard to beat: 235k for one night in a double room. I'll stay again when I'm back in Malang. I only found it because another hotel canceled my booking just hours before check-in. I searched Maps in a rush, then sorted a room with a quick WhatsApp exchange. The online service was great, and when I saw the place I was glad the other hotel had canceled. The hotel is spacious and well maintained, with free coffee, tea, and bread, plus a coffee shop next door. My room was clean, large, comfortable, air-conditioned, and had good water pressure. Staff were friendly too. A couple of small things: the towels need replacing, and the double bed needs a bigger blanket or two blankets. My wife was cozy, while I ended up sleeping without clothes. 9.8/10.

It's easy to get around from here, with the train station, public food court, and the tugu all within walking distance. Staff were friendly, and breakfast is free, with toast, coffee, and tea available almost around the clock. The room was clean and reasonably spacious, but there wasn't a chair or cupboard. It'd be helpful to have somewhere to sit and a simple cupboard for guests' things. There's also a coffee place right next door.

At 160k, the twin room is damn worth it. The room was clean and fairly spacious, with an Android modified smart TV. The hotel is near the city center, and they have tea, coffee, and plain bread available all day, plus a welcome drink.

Aloha is a solid budget option, with friendly, helpful staff and rooms that are okay and roomy. It's in the middle of town, near the train station. The pillows were flat, though, and the lobby often had people smoking in it. If you're with kids or have a health condition, I'd think twice about that.
