The main problem was how dirty the room was. There were stains on the bed, and the bathroom was so grimy and full of hair that I wouldn't have wanted to shower barefoot. They did put bleach tablets on the floor, to their credit. The receptionist didn't seem to care when we raised it, though the room was nonrefundable, so perhaps it made no difference to him. We'd expected a clean, decent mid-range hotel from the photos and reviews, nothing fancy. Instead, we left and booked a private room at Mador Hostel for two nights. It was cleaner and better quality than this supposedly decent hotel. Maybe we just got unlucky, but I won't take the risk at RedDoorz again. If you're a tourist staying a couple nights in Malang, this isn't a good fit. It's far from the tourist area, and you can't get a taxi unless you install Grab.

Booking through Agoda makes this hotel really affordable. It's in a strategic location, and there's a swimming pool too.

There isn't much parking, but the room was roomy enough, clean, and comfortable enough for a rest. Cafes and restaurants are nearby, and the price is pretty cheap.
