Ndalem Kilen Homestay

The owner was very kind and friendly, and I’d happily stay here again. I’d give the place 10/10. It’s near the university, a mall, Ind*maret and Alf*maret, with plenty of restaurants and “Kaki lima” nearby. You can walk to Brawijaya University or “MaToS” in just 10 minutes. The price is very reasonable, and there are lots of facilities: AC, hot and cold water, Wi-Fi, breakfast, and free tea and coffee whenever you want them. Definitely one of the best hotels or homestays in Malang.

The owner’s collection of antiques gives the place the feel of a little museum, and the atmosphere is lovely. They’re also so friendly and kind. I got a nice breakfast here, and this is the best budget hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

We found bed bugs in the room. The hotel didn’t help us or clean it, and they didn’t seem to care at all. It was really dirty there too.

I ended up leaving early, and AGODA helped arrange a refund for the nights I hadn’t stayed. The place is now listed on AGODA and REDDOORZ as REDDOORZ PLUS NEAR BRAWIJAYA UNIVERSITY MALANG. For a twin room, AGODA sold it to me for Rp. 600 K more per night, with very convincing photos. The actual room was completely different from the description and pictures. It was very old and hadn’t been properly upgraded, with a bad smell and dirty spots on the bed, bed cover, wall, curtain, and ceiling.
