Padi City Resort

We spent nine days in the Exotica Room and really liked the spacious room, balcony, and view over the padi. The extra sink was handy, and they replaced the bottled water every day. I did miss having towel hooks in the bathroom. Padi Heritage Resort is tucked into a quiet, green spot between Malang and Batu. It's near the city, but away from the bustle, with cozy surroundings, a river close by, and chickens wandering around. We enjoyed the traditional Indonesian style and the more authentic feel. The staff were humble and helpful. It was easy to reach the front desk on WhatsApp, and they sorted out concerns quickly. We appreciated the early check-in and late checkout after a long journey. Laundry was available, and when it rained, staff walked us to our room with umbrellas, which was a kind touch. At Kopi Kalabrantas, the buffet had several vegetarian options, and the food was cheap and tasty. Breakfast didn't quite fill us up, so we added our own food. The orange juice tasted very artificial, and the breakfast delivery was often late. We didn't try the spring pool because it wasn't clean. There was also trash by the river. We were concerned about the birds in the cage by reception, since there was no fresh water, and the caged hens had only wire mesh to walk on. We'd still highly recommend Padi Heritage Resort and are grateful to the staff for a unique, memorable stay.

The room was nice, beside a small river and padi field. The location felt a bit remote, and the internet connection was poor.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and well furnished, with Wi-Fi, a bed, an internet-ready TV, and hot and cold showers. There's also a hot and cold water dispenser near the rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, and easy to reach on Whatsapp. Although it's within Malang, the hotel feels like a quiet break from the city. It's in a housing complex near a brook, with lush greenery and paddy fields. The main road, schools, convenience stores, and other businesses are fairly close. “Padi” means rice plant in Bahasa Indonesia. There’s a nice pool and a natural cold spring. Breakfast was fine, but the choice barely changed during our five-day stay. Lunch and dinner had similarly limited selections. Check-in was listed at 3 pm, but our room still wasn't ready then, and we couldn't get in until almost 3:45. Even so, it's a good place for anyone wanting a peaceful, authentic stay in Malang.

We booked two spacious rooms with rice-field views. Breakfast was nice and the staff brought it to the room. There's a pool, and the staff were nice too. I loved the surroundings, but getting there was difficult: the road is narrow, and the driveway up to the place is really steep.
