RedDoorz near Taman Rekreasi Selecta

It was a long walk before I could find a Grab driver, and there were no drivers nearby. The hotel is really far from everything, which does make it secluded, but there was no scooter rental either. The staff were a group of kids around 17 who didn't speak English. Locals and nearby workers who weren't staying there were using the pool table downstairs. Also, the toilet sat oddly high on a ledge, so my feet dangled.

The room was filthy and smelled bad. There was dust everywhere, the floor was really dirty, and the bedsheet was filthy too. The toilet was worse than a public toilet. We left immediately. The building looked nothing like the condition shown in the uploaded pictures, and it felt like a scam. How can they take the money and not look after the place?

The staff were friendly and helpful, and even suggested places to visit. They also offered hot coffee for sale. The villa was clean and easy to find, near Selecta, with lots of spacious rooms, sofas in some corners and stairs. I liked the facilities, including TV and AC, though it was cold enough that I don't think AC was needed. I'd come back on a holiday in Malang or Batu.

It's cheap and the room is cozy enough, with plenty of space, though there's no view from it and it was a bit moldy. Very close to Selecta, but far from restaurants, so bring your own food and drinks and have your own transport ready. Fine for a short stay.
