The room smelled bad and faced the main road, with no noise isolation at all. I went down to ask for a different room, but the receptionist was lying there smoking and said none were available, even though we knew all the rooms were empty. Then he woke us at 6:40 am to bring coffee. Who wakes hotel guests that early to offer them coffee? Worst hotel of my life, with unfriendly staff.

From outside it looks creepy, old, and unhygienic, but inside it wasn’t as bad as I expected. I’d still call it clean, in my opinion. The ground-floor and lobby rooms can feel damp, smell like an old drawer or cabinet, and have stagnant air. I think the second and third floors have better air circulation. The room boy/receptionist was upfront when I asked about checking in, and said the AC on the upper floor was kind of broken. Honesty is good, and hopefully management does something about it.

It’s an old building, and there’s no hot water or internet. Our room rate didn’t include breakfast, though we could get free coffee or tea. The place was clean and cozy, the staff friendly, and it was really worth the price.

A very good option if you’re traveling on a tight budget.
