Best Western The Lagoon Hotel

The breakfast buffet had a decent range, but it wasn’t being refilled. By 7:30 in the morning, a lot of choices, especially the bread and pastries, had run out. Getting around on foot was easy because of the hotel’s location. Still, cleanliness was a clear problem: the shower and sink hadn’t been properly cleaned, and water sat there because it wouldn’t drain. There were dispensers for soap and shampoo in the shower, but both had the same product in them, which seemed careless. The location is decent, but the service and standards don’t live up to what I’d expect from a four-star hotel.

I felt good about how thoroughly the room was cleaned. The tea in the lobby was so good I kept going back for more, and they even sent a teapot and container right up to my room. Thank you so much.

We spent four nights at the Best Western hotel and joined Manado diving center for a trip to Bangka island. The breakfast had plenty of variety, though many dishes were local and might not suit Western tastes. I had chicken soto, porridge, bread, and other things. The building is large, but there are only two lifts, so waits can be long. My friend said the gym had basic equipment. The room was generally cleaned okay. The water faucet seemed a bit old, so use it carefully. We were advised to put toilet paper in the bin because the hotel’s water pressure may be low and flushing can cause problems. The toilet bowl did get stuck on two nights during our stay.

We checked in around midnight, and David was helpful in the lobby. Randy was a big help at breakfast the next morning. The room was clean and non-smoking, and we had a good stay.
