RedDoorz near Sam Ratulangi Airport

The staff helped arrange a private taxi for Rp. 50,000 (about USD3 in Nov 24), which was useful since walking with luggage in the heat is tiring. The room was basic, as you’d expect from this sort of 2-star place, with just a bed. The shower had weak pressure, wasn’t hot, and we had to hold the shower head. There was no wifi. Still, it’s worth a night’s sleep if you have a long transit.

The price was surprisingly low for somewhere within walking distance of the airport. We had a spacious twin room and the AC worked fine. Reception were very friendly and helpful, and the night desk had a car to the airport arranged within minutes for 4:30am.

For a night’s stay, it was all good, though it’s not really a place I’d choose for a longer stay. The road gets noisy in the evenings. It’s 1.5 km from the airport and easy to find along its road, with a warung nearby. Rooms are simple but have the basics, AC, and a TV. There was only one bedsheet on the bed, but the shower was good. Wifi is available if you ask to have it activated for your room. They also offer room service with local food and non-alcoholic drinks.

The street alongside the hotel gets really loud, though it’s okay from midnight until early morning. The staff were friendly, and the rooms are basic but fine for the price. It’s a nice place to stay near the airport.
