The underwater life at Bunaken is unbelievable, with so many animals to see while diving. The beaches aren't perfect white sand, but the marine life more than makes up for that. Froggies was a lovely place to stay, with great, helpful staff who play music all the time and cook delicious food. I can highly recommend staying there.

The cabins at Froggies have a lovely local feel, and they come with the amenities I expect. Whenever we needed something, the management and eager local staff provided it quickly. I found the place a great balance between comfort and a real local experience. I don't want hamburgers and lasagna on a trip like this, but I do appreciate air conditioning and a fully working bathroom. The included meals were a highlight too: varied, balanced, delicious local food that wasn't likely to put off conservative eaters. We had no dietary requests, since we loved every bite. Diving mattered most to me, and Eric is an incredible guide if you're hoping to spot tiny, camouflaged creatures. Somehow he can find a tiny transparent shrimp without using a torch. We had great visibility, almost no current, and lots of varied sea life. The dives were tailored to our preferences and never felt rushed, averaging 60 minutes. Bunaken itself is special, with mostly wall dives, though not exclusively, and plenty of great reefs. That makes it natural to pair a few days here with Lembeh, where the diving is completely different. You really can't go wrong with these guys. When I return to Bunaken, I'll definitely book with Froggies again.

The bungalows are pretty and have fantastic views, and the location is lovely, with good diving and excellent staff. Just be ready for lots of steps, since the resort sits on a steep slope. The food was fine, but nearly the same every day. The menu really needs more variety.

People come here for diving and snorkelling, not beach days and cocktails. The place is secluded, with stunning natural scenery and top-notch service, but don't expect a fancy resort. Guests dive and eat together at set times, then spend time together, which creates a shared feeling among them. The relaxed, easy-going staff add to that atmosphere.

Froggies combines professional instructors and a local divemaster with a relaxed atmosphere. The food is good, the accommodation is nice, and the staff are always smiling. Add the island's mesmerizing dive spots, and it's hard to beat for a diving week in Indonesia, except for a liveaboard. For courses like open water, advanced water, or others, ask for Sandra, the multilingual dive instructor. The best out there!
