There’s a shopping mall right across the road, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and warungs within a ten-minute walk. Even though this hotel sits beside one of Manado’s busiest roads, traffic noise barely came through. I’m a light sleeper, and it didn’t bother me. My third-floor single room cost Rp160k. It was small, about 3m x 3m, but the layout made good use of the space. The bed was supportive and the sheets were clean. The bathroom was clean too, though the toilet and shower area is small and might not suit everyone. The inside walls could use a proper cleaning, and the tiled floor needs a scrub and polish. For budget travellers, I think it’s good value.

The location is good and the price is cheap, so it’s a mixed bag. The rooms have no windows, and the place looks much more run down than the photos suggest.

The room had a sofa, the sheets were clean and smelled of laundry perfume, and the AC was nice and cold. But there was a terrible smell in there, and I couldn’t figure out what caused it, so I bought my own air freshener. The toilet also hadn’t been cleaned well, with lots of hair on the drain cover. Orens Inn could be worth a try if you want a well-located hotel at a good price.

It was a comfortable, pleasant stay, especially with Mantos across the road. Umah Duren is just behind it and only a short walk away, and Alva and other shopping spots are close too.
