Sahid Kawanua Manado

The hotel feels frozen in time and needs a 110% makeover inside and out. The fourth-floor hallway smells, there's carpet, and cockroaches can slip under the room doors. There are too many issues to list. The 1-star reviews are right, but so are the 5-star ones. ANWAR, the one-man-show manager, and his lady manager deserve to be heard by Sahid headquarters. I have a feeling this Sahid Kawanua kid is the least spoiled among the other Sahid hotels. Anwar and his female co-worker know customer service comes first. I don't think HQ knows what's happening here, or perhaps the hotel can get by on weekly conference-room rentals since it owns the property and has low monthly expenses. I gave it 5 stars because their customer service was excellent ❤️ No need for me to post pictures…

We'd booked two nights but left after just one. The place seemed not to have been maintained since, I think, 1980. Cigarette smoke was very strong and pervasive, and there were signs of damp and mold. The shower head was cracked and rusty, the air conditioning wasn't maintained, and we found ants and a cockroach. I absolutely don't recommend staying here.

I stayed for two days. When I first asked about booking, nobody explained the room options and they immediately offered me the expensive one. I only learned from my neighbor that cheaper rooms were available. In the 350 thousand room, the shower was tiny, the hot and cold settings didn't work, and the wooden wardrobe was rotten and had no hangers. The door lock felt like something from the 90s, not the card system used in modern hotels.

I stayed here once, and the facilities were really lacking. A red hotel would be a better choice. The bathroom was dirty and looked as if it hadn't been renovated since the hotel opened. The shower head came loose and didn't work properly, and the rusty door was hard to lock. Breakfast was limited, and service often came later than promised.
