The facilities were dirty, with mold everywhere, and the towels and sheets needed cleaning. Even the desk was falling apart. I was staying for a week. The man and woman managing the place were very different: he was perfectly nice, while she kept pointing and laughing and counting the days of my stay from the first day. Maybe it was a language barrier. My wife joined me on the third day. The man knocked loudly and asked her to leave without knowing our situation. I thought I'd explained it clearly, but five minutes later the woman knocked even louder and called my wife all kinds of rude names without letting us explain. I ended up leaving because I didn't want my wife to stay there with that awful woman. I've traveled all over Southeast Asia, and this was unfortunately my first bad host. If you're looking for somewhere in Mataram, please choose another place. Don't give them your business if you have any dignity.

The couple running this homestay were really kind and helpful, even though they don't speak English. My room was very good for the price, with AC and good WiFi, and there was plenty of local food nearby. I stayed for one night. Thanks for your time.

It was good.

The room had everything I needed: a wide, long bed, working TV, good AC, desk, wardrobe, and a nice bathroom with a sitting toilet. It was comfortable and minimalist, but sufficient. The water was cold, with no heater. If I'm remembering right, there are boarding houses here too. The gate stays open around the clock and felt safe. A direct booking at the property costs 125 per night, with check-in from noon and checkout by 11 am.
