Vancy Kubu

We stayed in the new guest house, which had opened just two weeks earlier. Each spacious, comfortable room has a small porch where you can eat breakfast or relax. It was completely quiet, without traffic noise, and the staff were very helpful. Komang gave us ideas for places to eat and visit. You can rent bikes on the property, and there's a small convenience store outside. They also sell beer at retail prices if you ask.

The room was clean, and the area was quiet, with friendly hosts and great value. They offer free tea or coffee and will prepare food whenever you want if you ask. I also rented a scooter, and the price wasn't inflated like at some other hotels. The WiFi was quite slow, though, so I couldn't give five stars.

The rooms were clean and well kept, the pool was good, and the staff were very helpful and made delicious breakfast. The property sits in a nice neighborhood in Lombok, with lots of lanes that feel very Bali-like nearby. It's close to Sengiggi harbour and other places to eat in Sengiggi, and bikes are available to hire onsite. Sightseeing spots are quite far away, around a two-hour drive, so this is a good place to relax and switch off from the world.

After nearly two months traveling around Southeast Asia, this was the best homestay I've stayed in. Vancy Kubu is run by such a lovely family. They were kind and helpful, and made us feel part of the family, which means a lot when you're far from home. Madi, if I'm spelling that right, was great and really funny. He helped us arrange our trip to Komodo and with plenty of other things too. Breakfast was super tasty, and you can order food from them as well. There are lots of choices, with big portions at a cheap price. You can rent a motorbike for the best price in Lombok, and it was practically brand new and insured, which isn't very common but matters a lot. This was the cleanest place I've stayed in Indonesia, with a huge toilet and separate shower. We'll definitely come back soon. It's a dreamy place. Terima Kasih.
