RedDoorz near Grand Palladium

We ended up sleeping in our clothes on our own towels because the bed was so filthy. The sheets were old, grey, stained, and full of hair, and my boyfriend developed a rash from them. The bathroom smelled bad and the toilet leaked. At least the AC worked, the toilet was Western style, and the shower had hot water. Otherwise, this place was awful. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.

The reception guy was no help when we asked about getting a bus from Medan to bukit lawang. He said there wasn’t one, which was obviously a lie, and seemed to want to sell us a private car instead. The place was noisy, with strange mechanical sounds. Rooms were very old and mostly broken, and the bed covers had stains all over them, like they hadn’t been washed in years. The bathroom smelled disgusting and had no toilet paper or soap. Cheap, but really unpleasant. Don’t stay here.

I booked through Agoda for reddoorz near paladium, where the property had reviews. When I got there, they told me they no longer worked with reddoorz and wouldn’t honor the booking. The receptionist couldn’t speak English, and there was no apology or help. I had to search for another hotel in the heat with my luggage. Please don’t book.

Fine for a night, and the boy at reception was great with customers. Wi-Fi was OK too. What bothered me was finding naphthalene balls all over both the bedroom and bathroom. Naphthalene is toxic!
