Selecta Hotel Medan

The room was huge and could fit at least 200 people. We went there for a family friend's wedding, and the couple had rented the space for the night. The decorations looked lovely, especially the lights, and the food came out on time. From a guest's point of view, it was a good experience. Weddings seem to be a common use for the venue, though graduations sometimes take place during the day and last 3-5 hours. I'm not planning to get married soon, but if I were in Medan and getting married, I'd seriously consider this convention.

The location is handy, with easy access to town, but my two-night holiday stay was disappointing. The room was very large and mostly empty, and the toilet was only so-so and smelled bad. They didn't refill the shampoo or refresh the room. Staff weren't very helpful, although the security guard was friendly. Housekeeping had the same issues I mentioned with the room. Food and beverage service was okay, but breakfast had very few choices and didn't feel worth the price. They only offered eggs if you asked, and nobody mentioned that option. I ordered an omelette, and the chef looked unhappy about making it. Management really needs to look at how things are run, or it could hurt the business. I'd rate the stay two stars. Fingers crossed.

When Columbia Asia Hospital has no parking left, you can use the basement to park your car. It's safer and more affordable, and fewer people seem to know about it. Give it a try.

The rooms are clean, and the people working here are really kind.
