The peaceful atmosphere, spacious rooms, beautiful views and polite, helpful staff made this a special place for my birthday stay. The private beach sounds like a great perk, but it's not swimmable, which disappointed me. I wish that had been made clear beforehand. I was especially let down by the activities. Before booking, I specifically asked for the list available at the property. I was excited about horseback riding, and was also told ATV rides and bicycle tours were options. Based on that, I booked the hotel. After we arrived, we were sent the same list again, but the horses were pregnant, the ATVs were broken, and the bicycle tour wasn't available during the rainy season. I understand unexpected things happen, but I'd asked about these just a few days before booking. If I'd known none were actually available, I most likely would have picked another hotel for my birthday. Those activities were a big reason I chose this place. It's a beautiful property with wonderful staff, but I'd strongly recommend checking that activities are currently available before booking.

The buildings need better finishing, the materials seem poorly chosen, and the gardens look unfinished, as if the budget ran out before the project was complete. Even so, the stay was wonderful. The staff are sweet, always there when needed, and do their best with a smile to make you happy. Tunak resort is in a great spot if you want to settle into a comfortable cocoon with a magnificent ocean view. The quiet here is hard to find elsewhere in Indonesia, and the view is amazing. I'd certainly return. Thanks to the whole team for the experience.

For our babymoon, we wanted somewhere secluded, quiet and peaceful, and this was one of the most amazing villas we've stayed in in lombok. The room was really huge and comfortable. Even out in the wild, there were fewer insects than we'd expected. The food tasted great, but the portions were a bit disappointing. Compared with another luxury villa where we'd stayed, the servings here were really small. Still, the taste was great.

The personalized service was impeccable. Everyone had a smile and went the extra mile. Special thanks to Pak Komari and Pak Rivaan for making our stay unique. The chef came by to fine-tune our meal requirements, the food was excellent, and there was a great choice of beer and wines. Sitting at the restaurant for those sunsets was something else, some of the best I've seen, with a cool breeze coming up the cliff from the ocean. I've had the good fortune to work across the Archipelago of Indonesia for 36 years and stay in some wonderful places, but this one is special. It's about an hour's drive from the airport and feels remote, but the spectacular views and tasteful, well-thought-out villas make the trip worthwhile. The ambience is lovely, with birds, monkeys, horses and the relentless ocean pounding below. My only complaint is that we stayed just two days. Give yourself five days to take in the quiet, remoteness, abundant nature, beautiful butterflies and expansive views of the sea and rugged cliffs. We'll be back.
