Most people seem to stay just 24 hours to do the sunrise Kelimutu tour, but we added an extra day and loved relaxing with those amazing views. The resort sits among the hills and rice plantations outside Moni, and feels like an idyllic little getaway. We arranged the sunrise tour through the resort. It cost more than other options, but we were lucky to have Patrice as our guide. He was knowledgeable, funny, and great with the kids. The room was basic but comfortable. The food was pricey but pretty good, and Moni itself is charming and worth a stroll. People in the area were some of the friendliest I’ve ever met.

We were two couples from Frabce and spent two lovely days here in February 2019. It’s a peaceful place, surrounded by a gorgeous garden and landscape. Patris was our guide, and the lodge staff were all courteous and efficient. The bungalow was comfortable and clean.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! This place doesn’t exist, and the photos are stolen from kelimutu crater lakes ecolodge. The positive reviews may be confusing this listing with the real location. I didn’t stay here, but the people there were helpful in explaining what was going on and helping me find somewhere else to stay. Several locals I spoke with know about this scam, which commonly catfishes tourists. They’re trying to get rid of it because it’s ruining their image.
