The owner was the kindest, most helpful person, and his care made our four nights unforgettable. When my boyfriend got sick, he changed breakfast to something he’d prefer, offered to get medicine, and checked on him every day. Ask if you need something in the room or have a request, he’s happy to help. The guest house is great for an authentic Bali experience, with jungle treks, waterfalls, rafting and canyoning. That also means there aren’t tourist shops, nightlife, or tourist-style restaurants, just Balinese food, so it’s good to know that before you arrive. The rooms are very simple but clean, and the price is very good. The balcony and terrace views are breathtaking. It’s mostly quiet, apart from the muezzin calls at 6am, noon, and 6pm, which last about five minutes.

The room was clean and roomy, with a cute balcony facing the garden, and breakfast was tasty, pancakes with fruit and coffee or tea. The staff were very friendly. When we got back at around 10pm, though, the gate was padlocked. On the morning we left around 5am, they offered us tea or coffee and gave us a warm send-off. The guesthouse is centrally located in Munduk, but the waterfalls aren’t all close. You’ll want a motorbike or car to get around. Munduk waterfalls are fairly nearby, while Aling Aling and Gitgit are more than an hour away.

The restaurant has lovely views and really good Indonesian food. It’s in a nice location, and the woman working there was very kind.
