The shower water wouldn't drain, and the bathroom was rather moldy. Guests were talking loudly late into the night, until 1 AM, and the restaurant smelled like a trash dump right beside it. They also wanted us to pay 25% of the total price to check in just 60 minutes early.

The family who runs this place were kind and helpful, and I was lucky to stay there during the Vesakh Festival in Borobudur. The room had a comfortable bed, hot water, TV, AC, good Wi-Fi, and a free drink. I’d rate the hotel 5/5. It's about 1 km from Borobudur Temple, roughly a 20-minute walk, or you can take a local bike taxi for Rp 10.000- Rp 20.000 (+/- 1 USD). There's a restaurant out front, but it only takes cash. They accept cards for the room, though it seemed only one person knew how to use the card machine :'D. The nearest ATM is about 1 km away, so bring enough cash.

Skip the fancy breakfast. There are plenty of nearby restaurants with all kinds of tasty dishes. The place is cozy, and just a short walk from the cultural epicenter.

There's air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a comfy bed, and a clean bathroom with really hot water. The staff are lovely, and the rooms sit back from the road. Wooden sculptures around the place look awesome.
